The Preppiest Office in America

Brothers and Vineyard Vines co-founders Shep and Ian Murray embarked on developing their new headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, with three criteria: (1) Be on the water; (2) Be in their own building; and (3) Create an environment that was just like being at home.

The brothers took Bloomberg Business on a tour of their new space that is wholly reflective of the company’s coastal preppy look – what the brothers call a “lifestyle brand.” The smart look is echoed throughout the building’s décor and finishes, from the teak flooring to the ship motif to lounges modeled after the Florida Keys, Nantucket and the Bahamas.

The company announced last year that they’d redevelop a 91,040 square foot waterfront space as the start of a permanent campus for the growing company – they plan to add 50 to 70 corporate employees in the next 12 months and open up to 15 stores by the end of the year.

Vineyard Vines collaborated with the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) for financial assistance towards the build-out of the new office with the promise of job creation in the state.
